What is virtual therapy?
Virtual therapy is an online platform that allows us to host virtual visits with patients over secure video or phone call.
What do you get with a virtual therapy session?
Health assessment and screening, including initial assessment, ongoing assessments, and medical triage.
Individualized home exercise programming as well as instruction on stretching and self-administration of soft-tissue massage or frictions.
Education on activity and lifestyle modification in order to treat and prevent a large variety of conditions, injuries and illness. This also includes education on use of home-based modalities including heat / cold / electrical stimulation depending on what the patient has available at home.
Triage and referral to other health professionals as required.
How does virtual therapy work?
E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or text (226) 774-5734 to schedule an appointment for virtual therapy.
We will email you intake forms, a consent for virtual therapy form and an invite to a free video calling app (similar to Skype or FaceTime) that you can use on your computer (must use Google Chrome), tablet or smartphone with internet connection and camera.
The physiotherapist will connect with you face-to-face by video call to assess your condition, answer your questions, and develop a customized treatment plan. Using an online physiotherapy tool they will also create and send you customized exercise programs as needed. These programs can include detailed instructions, pictures, and videos to help guide you through your home based rehab program.
Just like in-person physiotherapy, virtual therapy sessions are covered by most extended health insurance companies.
Payments for sessions can be made by e-transfer if there is no third party coverage.
